Mildew! |
| After only a couple uses it started to smell like mildew. And I always washed it out and hung it up to dry after using it. Other than that it was a big help. |
Don't buy a bathtub, just use this pillow |
| For my baby shower, I got one of those 4-in-1 tubs. It leaked water and my daughter cried everytime we put her in it. I went online and found the Safer Bather. It is one of the best things I've bought for her. I have a large tub in my bathroom, so the Safer Bather pillow works really well for her. I can get in the tub with her, and she lays on the pillow and can feel the water on her back. I am not worried about her slipping and sliding in the tub, and she likes laying in the pillow so she can watch me while I give her a bath. I even took it on our vacation to Florida, and it was very easy to dry, just hang it up in the hotel bathroom. About once a week, I put it in the washer on the gentle cycle with no detergent, just to rinse out the soapy residue from her baby bath soap, and it is good as new. |
Perfect for Newborns! |
| Just like any new mother, I was petrified by the thought of bathing my newborn on my own. Due to the softness of a baby's skull, I knew I didn't want my baby's first tub to be a hard plastic tub, but rather one made of sponge. The Safer Bather was wonderful mainly because I didn't have to worry about my baby hitting her head on a hard surface. I placed it on our bathroom counter and bathed her with a mug using the water from the sink. The Safer Bather absorbed most of the water, and any remaining water drained from the counter into the sink. There wasn't much of a mess and clean up was easy. I made sure to wash it in the washing machine once every two weeks with baby detergent so that it would not develop mold. After washing it, I hung it to dry, which helped in not altering its original shape. When I have my next child, I will probably buy another Safer Bather because I'm not comfortable using one that has been sitting around for so long, even after washing it. Nevertheless, I think it's a worthwhile investment for my baby's first few months. I used this tub until she was sitting up by herself, which is when I transitioned her to a hard plastic tub in which she could sit and play with her toys. |
