Nice concept, but I've tried 3 and all have been broken.

I really like the concept of being able to move the child unit since my baby sleeps in different areas of the house and we have had no problems with reception. However, I have replaced it 3 times now because the charging light on the base of the child unit has always had something wrong. If I knew the charger was working, I could live with replacing batteries on the parent unit. But, I figure 3 tries is enough and will be returning this last one for a different brand that hopefully works.

Great monitor!

We are using this monitor with our first newborn and have had no problems so far. The sound quality is super and picks up even the slightest noise. We can even hear the air blowing from our central AC in the room! The baby unit had to be recharged after several days of low use although sometimes I would forget to turn it off. I now normally place the baby unit in the charger next to the baby crib because that's just as easy as to clip it onto the crib itself and I hear just as clear. One neat feature is that when both units are on, then the baby unit is turned off, the parent unit will sound an alarm to let you know the baby's unit is off. I would recommend this monitor! The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that I agree with others that it would be nice if the parent unit was also rechargeable. In about 8 weeks, we had to change the batteries on the parent unit.

Buy another monitor! Too many problems!

I am the mother of three and have had good monitors before. I bought this one with my third baby and immediately started having problems with it. Every so often the base unit doesn't line up correctly and shows that its not charged when it is. The receiver part has to be plugged in all the time. If not, then you will go through batteries every couple days. Very expensive. I will say that its clear for the most part, that's why I gave it two stars, but after having this for less than 7 months it is starting to make strange static noises and I must buy a new monitor. Save your money and look for another one. This one is poorly designed.
